Academic Employees (CRFO)
The College of the Redwoods Faculty Organization (CRFO) represents all faculty and associate faculty working at College of the Redwoods.
Fair Share Service Fees
Beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year, the College of the Redwoods Faculty Organization (CRFO) implemented fair share service fees for its non-members, consistent with Government Code 3540, et seq. The provisions of the Government Code allow an exclusive representative to require bargaining unit members to contribute to the collective bargaining agent for work undertaken on their behalf. The Government Code recognizes the principle that non-members should pay their fair share of obtaining and maintaining the benefits of union representational activities that include, for example, negotiations to improve terms and conditions and employment and grievance representation. Consistent with the Code, the amount of the fair share fee will be automatically deducted from each paycheck for the duration of your employment as a faculty member at RCCD. For 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, the agency fee amount is equal to 67% of membership dues, 0.74% of annual pay for full-time faculty and 0.35% of pay, by semester, for part-time faculty.
California Community College Independents (CCCI)
The CRFO is an independent and non-affiliated union that a member of the California Community College Independents consortium. The mission of CCCI includes organizing independent faculty union leaders to share information regarding negotiation issues and contract matters.
